Daren Anders joined Valander Cybersecurity in 2020 to assist in the development of curriculum for the company’s Alvernia University certification courses, as well as working with Valander’s founder and CEO – Eric Robuck – on the company’s commercial information security initiatives.
Mr. Anders came to Valander after receiving his master’s degree in Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management from George Washington University. He is currently studying for the SANS Institute’s GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification) Security Essentials certification.
Professionally, Mr. Anders has been a police officer in Berks County, Pennsylvania for over two decades – with well over half his time served in criminal investigations. As such, he is responsible for commanding investigations for assigned major crimes including homicide, violent crimes, high-value fraud and theft – almost all of which have a nexus to diverse digital and communication technologies.
These experiences in law enforcement led to Mr. Anders’s interest in the field of information security; predicated largely on the global trend of criminal investigations migrating to the dynamic and challenging arena of cyberspace.
Mr. Anders, who was born and raised in Reading, PA, also holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice from American University and is a graduate of Antietam High School.
